The coming months will see a bevy of notably hype titles launched, including new Super Smash Bros. and new Pokemon, as well. I’ve compiled a decent list of titles below that I feel are note-worthy.
Evolve: Oct 21 (“Big Alpha”) Feb 10, 2015 (Full Release) – While not an official release, the 21st will see the launch of the “Big Alpha” of the much-hyped 4v1 shooter. For those who don’t know, Evolve is an interesting new IP from Turtle Rock Studios and 2K games. It involves 4 “hunters” chasing 1 monster, all human controlled, while the human controlled monster has to chase down and defeat these hunters. It has won multiple awards already, and is definitely going to be one to remember.

Bayonetta 2: Oct. 24 – The sequel to Platinum Games’ bombastic Bayonetta, this Nintendo exclusive has already seen rave reviews prior to it’s US release. If you own a Wii U, this game is definitely worth a look. It even comes bundles with the original if you haven’t played before, or you want to relive all the crazy gameplay that is Platinum’s trademark. This one is going to be a fun play, for sure.

Sunset Overdrive: Oct. 28 – This new Xbox exclusive IP from Insomniac Games looks especially crazy. A third-person action game in a sprawling open world, combining fast pace with Insomniac’s penchant for over-the-top weaponry in what is sure to be a system seller for Microsoft and the Xbox One.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare: Nov. 3 – The next installment of the venerable Call of Duty franchise looks to be the most exciting and refreshing edition to date. Enhanced graphics, new traversal methods, Kevin Spacey, and more! Activision and Sledgehammer games are sure to have another record setting launch with this game.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection: Nov. 11 – Halo makes it’s Xbox One debut in the Master Chief Collection, a reskinned 1080p 60 fps update of the classic trilogy of iconic games, as well as Halo 4. 343 Industries has added a multitude of features, all while keeping the games true to their original release. This game should tug at the nostalgic heartstrings of many a fan, and is sure to be a blast to play.

Pokemon Omega Ruba/Alpha Saffire: Nov. 21 – The next installment of Pokemon is a redesign of the classic third generation Pokemon games from the Game Boy Advance era. Game Freak and Nintendo have added all new Pokemon, new features, and an impressive visual upgrade to the familiar Pokemon formula, and it is sure to be a hit.
Super Smash Bros. Wii U: Nov. 21 – Last but not least, the second version of Nintendo’s popular fighting game. Following the successful 3DS version, the Wii U edition promises to be even better, with full Gamecube controller support, full HD visuals, and exciting gameplay that should be very familiar to fans of the franchise. This game should be an instant classic for Nintendo.
